Resolved Question: I backed up my OE6 .dbx files before reinstalling- how do I import them back into OE?

I tried copying the file to the OE6 store folder but this didn't do the trick- OE just created another file with a (1) next to it for use instead...

Also, is there a way to backup which newsgroups were subscribed to which news accounts? I organize my newsgroups by keeping them under 7 different OE accounts (they all use the same news server) so it won't be trivial matter to simply re-subscribe to all the groups.

I am signed on, and looking at the main Discussions in Excel page. I click on New / Question, but then I am redirected back to the same page. I see Click Here to Install Silverlight, which might have something to do with it, but after installing Silverlight, I still get the Click Here to Install Silverlight, with no change in the way the site behaves.

I have had a variety of problems with this site, although I have sometimes been able to use it successfully.

Any suggestions?

I am running Vista 32 and have the latest iTunes and Quicktime apps on a new Gateway desktop with dual core and lots of RAM. iTunes is fine until I click on the movies section and my whole system freezes. I have to hard reboot in order to recover.

I tried playing a movie in Quicktime by locating it in the iTunes folder and playing it -- system crashes again. Very frustrating. I tried multiple movies with the same results. I believe this is a compatibility issue with Quicktime and Vista.

I have searched endlessly on newsgroups and google searches for a fix. I see many folks posting similar issues, but no one has received an answer from Apple. Apple needs to address this quickly before they start losing more market share. Why purchase a movie if we can't play it??

I go to the tools section from the toolbar, then I click on 'Internet Options' which then brings up the window with all the tabs in in. When that happens I click on 'Programs' and then I see a list of different programs with drop down windows designed so that I choose different programs. For example, the first drop down window is for 'HTML', under that is 'EMAIL' and below that is 'Newsgroups'. Anyhow what I want to do is change my email from what it currently says which is 'Outlook Express' to Yahoo email' so that whenever I want to email something by clicking on it, it will automatically use Yahoo and not Outlook. I've tried but when I click on the drop down menu the only other option in there says 'Windows Live Mail'. I know in the past I was able to make this adjustment and can't figure out why I can't do it again. Does anyone out there understand my problem and, if so, can you help? I CAN'T hear system alerts and sounds via internet connection.

I CAN hear Audio CD's, mp3's payed through WMP and any games that I instaled (Diablo etc).

I have done:
1) Uninstall and reinstall drivers
2) Upgraded drivers
3) Did a Windows Repair
4) Checked all volume settings
5) All speakers work because I can play Audio, just can't hear system sounds

I have a RealTek 97' sound card with Windows XP system, running Kaspersky Virus 7 and a hardware firewall.

I have checked the newsgroups, and all services attempting to find a solution and nothing has worked. ANY other suggestions would be great before I break down and c:format again...

I also attempte a system restore and there is nothing to restore too after doing a the windows repair.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE and Firefox. No luck as well as have a system sound theme selected. Can't hear anything.
When going into the control panel to set themes for sounds, the windows default is selected and when 'testing' the sound below, and the play button plays but I hear nothing.
