Open Question: how do you access newsgroups from att yahoo?

Open Question: corp.supernews.com/news.atlanticbb.net slow even after Giganews bought them, anyone else us it?
First of my ISP is Atlantic Broadband, which contracts a company called EchoLabs to get news and mail, which simply just outsources to Supernews (now Giganews).
For the longest of time, you would get 64kb/s (2 connections of 32kb/s) then one day, boom, sometimes speeds like 2kb/s to nothing then just 20kb/s then 30kb/s, then sometimes your full 60kb/s.
My ISP claims they do not throttle nntp except where you get the 64kb/s, EchoLabs thinks it's my ISP, Giganews says if it was them, they would have gotten more calls.
Anyone know how I can help trace what the problem is? My ISP tech/customer support hardly even knows what the newsgroups are to really help, but one tech I know is going to contact the IT department that it looks like it's my ISP it self.
Anyone else know an ISP that uses corp.supernews.com at all? Or news.echolabs.net?
This problem has been going on for like 6 months and we are kinda close to fixing it but it doesn't really seem like it.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I'm trying to find other ISP users who ISP uses corp.supernews.com.
Easy way to find out is ping your newsgroup server and if it points to 216.168.3.44, you are on the corp.supernews.com server.
I'm curious to find out if it's just my ISP or if others are having issues with corp.supernews.com as well.
Or even if your ISP uses EchoLabs and news.echolabs.net, that also points to corp.supernews.com.
Also, no one has been able to really help me for the most part.
When it was Supernews, Supernews told me to contact my ISP, but my ISP was clueless.
Then it switched to Giganews and they told me to contact my ISP, and they were clueless.
I actually had to do research and find out that EchoLabs acually is the company that outsources the server for ABB, because they don't train their techs or tell them anything about the newsgroups period.
EchoLabs, I could not contact myself, but luckily someone in my ISP that I know, knows how to directly contact EchoLabs and I'm finally getting somewhere but I have to wait until Tuesday until he can talk to the IT department.
I have a feeling that they may not even find a problem or the problem and I'm back to where I started, so I figured maybe with some suggestions, I could find the real problem.
I know Telnet commands and I'm a hard core computer user, so I'm not afriad to try stuff that is really "advanced".

Also when I try to use the run command nothing works just a box pops up that says "Windows cannot open this file. "
I'm unable to do anything. The only thing that i'm able to do is use IE7
I also forgot to mention when I start the computer I don't have anything except my backround. No icons show on the desk top. I'm unable to do anything except get my task manager, When i open up the task manager I just have to browse and look through files that i can't even click on or do anything with and wait for the icons to appear and than the start menu pops up and i can go to IE7 but thats it.... I tried to press F8 and go to last known good and that didn't work either.

I'd like to purchase a program to posts to several newsgroups daily and automatically. Is there such a program? If you know of one and would recommend it I would appreciate any advice. I have WinXP and normally use Outlook Express to manually posts but its a long and slow process.

Open Question: Email over Wifi?
I have 2 desktops running netscape mail and newsgropup 7.2.
I would like to see my emails from both ends at the same time using wifi on the client machine.
Is that possible? If yes then how?
I have specified the paths in both the host and the client machines.
Now when I open both netscape mail and newsgroups only 1 netscape mail and newsgroup opens up the other shows blank inbox and other folders.
What should I do.
I have mapped the network drive of the host machine from the client side.
Please help.

I remember when there were tens of thousands of users at once. Now the IRC servers that are left are nearly empty. It's like a ghost town in there.
And USENET is fading away, too. Why don't people discuss things on newsgroups anymore? That part of the internet used to be much bigger than the World Wide Web. Now it's a pathetic remnant.

Resolved Question: I backed up my OE6 .dbx files before reinstalling- how do I import them back into OE?
I tried copying the file to the OE6 store folder but this didn't do the trick- OE just created another file with a (1) next to it for use instead...
Also, is there a way to backup which newsgroups were subscribed to which news accounts? I organize my newsgroups by keeping them under 7 different OE accounts (they all use the same news server) so it won't be trivial matter to simply re-subscribe to all the groups.

I see Click Here to Install Silverlight, which might have something to do with it, but after installing Silverlight, I still get the Click Here to Install Silverlight, with no change in the way the site behaves.
I have had a variety of problems with this site, although I have sometimes been able to use it successfully.

I am running Vista 32 and have the latest iTunes and Quicktime apps on a new Gateway desktop with dual core and lots of RAM. iTunes is fine until I click on the movies section and my whole system freezes. I have to hard reboot in order to recover.
I tried playing a movie in Quicktime by locating it in the iTunes folder and playing it -- system crashes again. Very frustrating. I tried multiple movies with the same results. I believe this is a compatibility issue with Quicktime and Vista.
I have searched endlessly on newsgroups and google searches for a fix. I see many folks posting similar issues, but no one has received an answer from Apple. Apple needs to address this quickly before they start losing more market share. Why purchase a movie if we can't play it??
